Dr Jafarey

Dr. Ali A. Jafarey will be honored on Feb 08, 2009 for all of his work presenting and informing others about the Iranian heritage and the Zoroastrian doctrine.

The ceremony has been organized by the Zarathushtrian Assembly, California Zoroastrian Center, World Zoroastrian Council,  Iranian Culture Center of Orange County and Claremont Graduate University.

Dr. Ali Akbar Jafarey, was born in Kerman, Iran. He received his schooling up to the university level in Karachi. He has a PhD in Persian Language and Literature, and has self-studied thirteen living and ancient languages. He has also studied linguistics, anthropology, Indo-Iranian literature, history, geology and research methods. Dr. Jafarey is one of the founders of the Zarathushtrian Assembly. The announcement from Jafarey Honoring Committee states that:

“During the recognition ceremony we will present Dr. Jafarey with a plaque for all of his work. We would like to invite you to both attend the event and send us some brief written excerpts of your personal memories of Dr. Jafarey for this event. Your written excerpts may encompass whatever encounters with or praise you have of Dr. Jafarey and his work. The awards committee will publish these excerpts in a booklet to be distributed to Dr. Jafarey and all of those in attendance at the awards event. If interested, please send your written excerpts via email to jafareyhonor@hotmail.com or via mail to the Zoroastrian Assembly 1814 Bayless St. Anaheim, CA 92802 U.S.A., or by fax to 1-562-433-1257. Submissions can be in any language but should be legible. and the deadline for submissions is January 1, 2009. ”
